Position Overview:
Halvor Logistics seeks a dedicated and proactive Freight Agent to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for initiating and maintaining strong relationships with both customers and carriers, ensuring that all freight is secured, managed, and delivered with superior service. As a Freight Coordinator, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and tracking freight movements to meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Engagement: Contact existing, new, and potential customers to secure freight opportunities. Actively solicit freight from external carriers to meet customer demand.
- Freight Coordination: Plan and coordinate delivery and pickup appointments, ensuring that schedules align with customer and carrier needs. This includes managing the logistics of each shipment to ensure timely and efficient delivery.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain ongoing relationships with both customers and carriers, ensuring clear communication and reliable service throughout the entire freight process.
- Track and Trace: Monitor and trace freight movements to ensure superior service, addressing any issues that may arise and keeping all parties informed of shipment status.
Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in using logistics software and technology for tracking and managing shipments.
- Previous experience in logistics, freight coordination, or a related field is preferred.
